You may have experienced how groovy music increases fun and excitement, and makes you spontaneously move your body to the rhythm. This sensation of wanting to move your body when hearing a rhythm is called groove feeling.
You may have experienced how groovy music increases fun and excitement, and makes you spontaneously move your body to the rhythm. This sensation of wanting to move your body when hearing a rhythm is called groove feeling.
Even light-intensity exercise stimulates the brain and enhances cognitive functions such as attention, concentration, and judgment. This paper found that people with high affinity for rhythms that induce groove feeling (groove rhythms) experience stimulation of the prefrontal cortex and enhanced executive function just by listening to groove rhythms, even without exercise.
This research was conducted by Lecturer Ochi with Assistant Professor Takemune Fukuya of Hokkaido University of Health Sciences and Professor Emeritus Hideaki Soya of University of Tsukuba.
