Sports Conditioning Lab
Through field experience, scientific trials, and social contribution, we explore "conditioning" including training and recovery to maximize human performance
Our Mission
The Ochi Laboratory is dedicated to advancing athlete performance
and promoting health and well-being through sports conditioning research and practice.
We integrate field experience with scientific approaches
and contribute our findings to competitive sports and society.
Research Characteristics
Acute Fatigue
急性疲労
Investigating transient fatigue mechanisms induced by exercise. Studying how peripheral blood lactate accumulation affects cognitive fatigue and the impact of exercise in hypoxic environments on cognitive function. Developing immediate recovery interventions such as foam roller-enhanced lactate clearance.
Chronic Fatigue
慢性疲労
Pioneering hair cortisol and oxytocin measurement to visualize long-term chronic stress that conventional blood and saliva tests cannot assess. First in the world to demonstrate training stress evaluation methods for female athletes, contributing to overtraining prevention.
Performance
パフォーマンス
Leveraging insights from acute and chronic fatigue research to optimize athlete performance. Pursuing scientific conditioning through diverse approaches including VR exercise effects, predicting arousal states from facial expressions during exercise, and brain function measurement via fNIRS/fMRI.
