●Research Project: Elucidation of Neural Mechanisms of Exercise-Induced Executive Function Decline - Role of Brain Lactate Concentration -

●Research Period: 2023-2024 academic years

●Research Overview: Executive function decline (cognitive fatigue) caused by exercise not only reduces competitive performance, but also adversely affects safe sports activities, such as inducing risk-taking behavior. However, the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown, and countermeasures are nonexistent. This research focuses on brain lactate as a mechanism of executive function decline and clarifies its role using MRS.
