On October 26, 2025, the women's long-distance team from our university, including Kyoka Shimizu, Haru Fukuhara, Mizuki Hoshi, and Sakura Fujita, competed in the 43rd All Japan University Women's Ekiden Championship (Mori no Miyako Ekiden) held in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture.

Kyoka Shimizu (4th-year undergraduate)
- Leg: 1st Leg (6.6km)
- Time: 22 minutes 49 seconds
- Leg Placement: 23rd
As the team's lead runner, she was entrusted with the crucial 1st leg. She demonstrated a powerful run over the 6.6km course.
Haru Fukuhara (3rd-year undergraduate)
- Leg: 2nd Leg (4.0km)
- Time: 13 minutes 36 seconds
- Leg Placement: 16th
Receiving the sash from Shimizu, she displayed an aggressive run, advancing the team by two positions in the 2nd leg.
About the Competition
The All Japan University Women's Ekiden Championship is a national championship competition where top universities from across Japan gather to compete. This year, 26 teams participated in an intense race.
As lab members, we are very proud to see these two balancing academics and athletics while excelling on the national stage. We look forward to their continued success!
