【Research Grant】Selected for 2026 University of Tsukuba ARIHHP Joint Research Grant

The Ochi Laboratory has been selected for the 2026 University of Tsukuba Advanced Research Initiative for Human High Performance (ARIHHP) open-call "Joint Use / Joint Research" grant. This marks a continued selection following last fiscal year.
The funded project is titled "Exploring Non-invasive Predictive Biomarkers for Brain Lactate Dynamics in Exercise-Induced Cognitive Fatigue."
When we keep exercising, it is not only the body but also the mind that grows tired. How is this "cognitive fatigue" linked to the brain's energy metabolism? In this project, we focus on the movement of brain metabolites thought to hold the key, and search for clues to capture fatigue states non-invasively—without placing a burden on the body.
We look forward to continuing this work as a joint research collaboration with Associate Professor Takashi Matsui of the University of Tsukuba.
